C is for Calgary is an alphabet book starring Cal, a young boy exploring Stampede through his grandfather’s old photo album. The photos in the book are from the Calgary Stampede’s extensive collection of archives that date back to the first Stampede in 1912. Authored by Dave Kelly, long-time morning television host and award-winning actor and illustrated by Mandy Stobo, creator of The Bad Portrait Project, C is for Calgary is sure to be a family favourite.

C is for Calgary was produced by Chevron Canada Resources as part of the company’s continuing support of Calgary Reads and their goal of promoting the importance of early literacy.

The book is currently for sale on the Calgary Stampede grounds at the Western Showcase art sales desk, as well as directly through Calgary Reads at 105 – 12th Ave SE, Calgary, during regular office hours (cash only please). Owl’s Nest Books, Shelf Life Books and Monkeyshines Children’s Books also have copies for sale.
Happy Stampeding!
